The Mini Cooper... I purchased this piece on Ebay.  ( I have a Bantam 60 piece already and consider this somewhat of a sequel).  Now, the Bantam car is the one Mickey and Donald Duck drove in the early cartoons and comic books. Its' company was the predecessor to the jeep used extensively in WWII.  I am hopping the Mini Cooper will have a neat history as well.

So, I bought this piece and paid through PayPal.  It never came.  I contacted the seller and reminded him it was paid for.  "Oops", he replied, "I let my nephew handle my account, I should have known better, I'll send it right away."  Very soon, and much to my surprise, when I opened the mail, not one, but, two Mini Cooper encased were enclosed.  Boy was I happy!  It was worth the wait.  I was fortunate to have dealt with a true gentleman who atoned for his "eBay sin" by sending an extra piece.  (We all make mistakes...except for me, of course.)

For some reason I really like encased dimes.  This ECI piece is beautiful!!!  Not only was it was a welcomed addition to my ECI encased collection but to my over all collection as well.  This dime encased is the best buy on the Internet!

My last "treasure" and, most recent, came unexpectedly.  Checking the mail one afternoon I noted an envelope with the name Steven Drake on the return address.  "Hmmmm" I thought to myself, "that sounds strangely familiar".  Upon opening it I discovered an encased nickel.  It was a Merry Christmas encased from Steven C. Drake in Hurricane Utah.  Wow, this was great!

I received this "airplane piece" trading "sight unseen" through the mail.  I was a fair trade and I was quite pleased.

When I was membership chairman for ECI I always looked for new coin clubs or others mentioned in The Numismatic News.  Steve Drake ECI#2 was starting a coin club so I sent him four of my personal encased.  One for him and the rest raffle off to see if he could generate any interest in folks joining ECI.  That was a long time ago but Steve remembered me and sent what I now is my most special piece.  So from Steve to Steve, once again a big thank you.

I said it before and I'll say it again, ECI members are the best people in the world!  And another thanks to those who keep this site up and running.  With out the dedication of you folks nice things like this wouldn't happen.
